Balkon Boutique Hotel

Close to the 5. Avenida, the rooms were fine, pool was nice and the rooftop as well. The staff made our stay very warm, they were amazingly friendly.

This hotel is freakin amazing -- the best hotel we stayed in in all of Mexico. The staff are very kind and incredibly helpful. Our room was spotless. They seem to have thought of everything. Super high-end and reasonably priced. The location was great and really quiet, which I appreciated. the TV was very good (with Netflix!). The AC was cold. The bathroom was exceptional, and the place was super clean. They have this wonderful top floor with a pool and plenty of places to lounge arounge and watch the sunset. It was really peaceful. Honestly I'd go back to Playa del Carmen just to stay in this hotel!

Good proximity to downtown. The location is safe. Parked on the street for a week without issues. Nice rooms with good air conditioning. The bathroom sink leaked, but it was not a big issue. Don't flush toilet paper (standard in Mexico and many regions around the globe). Front desk agents were friendly, kind, resourceful, and brought true value to our stay. Coffee available 24/7 in the lobby.

I was hoping it was a little closer to the beach, the beach club they partner with, it’s not really a free pass, you cannot use the chairs unless you spend a minimum of 300 MX pesos or 500! And you can’t use a towel unless you get a chair, then you have pay 100 pesos for it and 200 pesos deposit. Absolutely ridiculous!!! The room was fairly nice! And the service was great. Very sweet guy at check in! The rooftop pool is cool!

The hotel was modern, simple, & clean. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were helpful, especially Andre. They let us leave our luggage there early in the morning before check-in, which allowed us to spend the whole day doing something fun! It was not in the tourist section, so we used a taxi to get places. I would not pick this hotel if you plan to walk everywhere. I liked that there was a fruit stand across the street. It was a good value and we would be happy to book there again!

Absolute gem of a hotel, we were looked after extremely well before we even arrived, with the hotel checking if we needed anything before arrival. Everything went smoothly, the staff are always ready to help and are super friendly. The rooms are modern, clean & the air con is fantastic. The bathrooms are also modern with hot water & great water pressure. The price is also very fair, the view from the roof garden is lovely but the view from the room isn’t great, it can be a bit noisy at times but it’s part of the experience, it’s nice to be around the local life. The hotel can request a taxi for you & it’s only a 5 minute drive from the main 5th avenue. 5/5, would definitely return, thank you Balkon! Til next time amigos

Everything was nice and clean. The room was spacious and we even had the opportunity to watch Netflix which was a nice add-on. We liked the location being a bit more „far away“ from the main part of the Calle 5 but still in a good walkable distance. The staff was super friendly! Unfortunately we did not have hot water during our stay.
